The slab crew has started digging the footing trenches for the addition foundation. Things had been slowed down waiting for the permit, which we expect tomorrow. Turns out that those steps in the foreground, which had to be taken out to make room for the footings, were solid concrete and went three feet into the ground! It took two guys with a pneumatic impact hammer a whole day to break them up. Hopefully our Valentines Day present will be a building permit.
